About my essay:
There are struggles but good food is love.
Cooking food well is the greatest loving act that you can do for someone.
It takes great care and attention to sort through raw ingredients. Is this piece rotten, is that piece prime, would this tuna be a good combination with those strawberries and hundreds of other questions that go through a cooks head.
A cook stumbles in the footsteps of all the cooks before him looking at cook books as culinary roadmaps. We pray to Saint Lawrence and other kitchen deities to accomplish our goal of putting the best possible meal on the table with what we have. We study techniques as alchemists of the past looking to turn lead into gold.
When the bread is broken and consumed by the eater, we know if our love has been accepted. It can be a simple grunt to a delighted squeal. They can take our labor into their body and nourish their body and soul with our love.
Cooking food well is the greatest loving act that you can do for someone and no the strawberries do not go with the tuna.
